Relay for Life occurred a few weekends ago and we had twenty-four of our members attend. In total, our team raised $4,897.90! All of this money benefits cancer research.
I chose to be our team captain because I know that cancer has affected everyone in some way, and one day I hope that all of our efforts will help put an end to this disease.
The luminaria ceremony is what I really enjoy the most. It’s very touching seeing all the bags lit up and everyone’s names written across it. I made one in memory of my grandfather who passed away in 2014.
Our sisters had a great time walking around the track and participating in all the events each team had to offer. We even got to hang out with Cocky!
All in all, we had a great time staying up all night and fighting the fight against cancer. I can’t wait to do it again next year!
